What do I need to hire a vehicle?

Embarking on a journey has never been easier! Our simple vehicle hiring process ensures a seamless rental experience. In this section, we’ll outline the essential documents and requirements needed to rent a car or van from Trevor Charles, so you can hit the road with confidence and peace of mind.

Conditions of Hire

Drivers Age

To hire a vehicle from us you must be aged between 23 and 75. 

Full UK Driving Licence

You must have held a full driver’s licence for a minimum of 3 years.

Points on Your Licence

Certain penalty points may be accepted
by our insurance company, at their discretion.

Authorised Driver

Only those people named at the time of hiring are permitted to drive the vehicle. Additional drives can be added, but we need to see ID and run checks first.

Identification

Driving Licence

We need to see your driving licence. Both the modern photo licence and old style paper licence are acceptable.

National Insurance Number

We will need to know your National Insurance Number to complete our electronic checks.

Proof of Address

We need two forms of ID that include your current address, and are dated no longer than 3 months prior to the day of hire. Utilities bills, bank statements, and government letters are all acceptable.

What are your hours of operation

We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. We are closed on Sundays. Please call for bank holiday opening times.

Do you offer one-way rentals?

Currently, we only offer round-trip rentals. All vehicles must be returned to our North Walsham location at the end of the rental period.

Can I add an additional driver to my rental agreement?

Yes, you can add an additional driver to your rental agreement at no extra charge. The additional driver must meet the same requirements as the primary renter and present their valid driving license and proof of address at the time of vehicle collection.

What is your fuel policy?

All our vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel. We kindly ask that you return the vehicle with a full tank. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling charge will be applied.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time. For cancellations made less than 48 hours before pick-up, a cancellation fee may apply. Please contact us for more details.
